From there, the Poke will (I think) stay until you run into it or exit the current route. If you are lucky, the Poke will also travel towards you too, and you will be on the same route. there is one route between your location and the Poke's location), travel by foot towards the Poke into the neighboring route. If the Poke is in a semi-adjacent route (ex. Sometimes it will travel from places like Cianwood to somewhere way across the map, presumably because the devs didn't want the Poke to always end up in Cianwood just due to being cornered there. If you change your location by foot (like enter a new route or building) the Poke will, at random, travel to an adjacent route. If you check your Pokedex for the location of the Poke, it will tell you where it is. The best way to track a roaming legendary (like Mew in CC and the dogs) after you have "seen" it in your Pokedex is to put yourself at a major junction route with some grass in it. Speaking from my experience, since there seems to be a shortage of info out there on doing this without losing your mind.
